Whoever said it gets easier to watch your child traipse off with her class on the first day of school, well, they didn't consult with me first. I can attest that first grade did not come easier to me than kindergarten. I was all skittish, butterflies in my stomach and all. I wanted my girl to have all her questions answered. "Who will be in my class? Who will be my teacher? When will I eat my snacks? Will my headband hurt me behind my ears before the end of the day?"
