Beautiful golden hour in Vieux LaPrairie with this perfectly sweet couple as they await the arrival of their new little one. They didn't need to wait long, actually. Several hours after the shoot was all wrapped up, this mama went into labour! You'll meet their brand new baby girl on my blog very soon!

Next week is a very busy week. Between 40 and 50 moms, and their kiddies, of course.

I honestly can't remember if this will mark my 7th or 8th year of photographing the beautiful new mommies of L'Envol. I'm sure if I rifled through my stuff, I would have my answer. Years of capturing the connection between mother and child. Years of shy smiles and grateful moms.

And with momma up for balancing on fallen tree trunks, precariously suspended over duck-infested waters, these parents are definitely ready to take on being outnumbered by their children.

What a way fun mama-to-be. Below, images from one of my most up-for-anything maternity photo-sessions. Clad in rubber boots and trudging though muddy mud and tall grasses, this couple took every advantage of our great location and perfect sunset.

I was continually nervous for her, asking, "Are you alright?" I remember all too well one of my own pregnancy symptoms: loss of balance.
